On the basis of a detailed report. presented by JYB, in April 2019 in Paris to the Ambassador of Brazil at UNESCO, Maria Edileuza Fontenele Reis, in order for this day to be a world UNESCO day. After the approval by the Brazilian government, the Ambassador presented the proposal during the meeting of the UNESCO Executive Council, backed by 17 other countries, and it was approved on October 17, 2019 and became part of the calendar of UNESCO international days. January 14, 2020 was organized the 2nd World Logic Day under the auspices of UNESCO. After two successful editions organized by the Logica Universalis Association (LUA), the 3d edition was managed by UNESCO through CIPSH and LUA organized a Welcome Celebration. For the 4th edition LUA organized a round table on the EXCEPTIONALITY OF LOGIC.
For the 5th edition LUA is organizing a round table on the IMPORTANCE OF LOGIC FOR HUMANITY. Human beings were characterized in Greek antiquity as "logical animals" ("rational animals", in Latin). "Logos" in Greek has four main meanings: language, science, reasoning, relation. Logic is not one science among others. It is a very special science and it is not only a science, it is an extraordinary capacity that human beings have, called in Latin "reasoning". Logic is the art of thinking that allows us to understand, master and transform reality. Logic is not one field among others because it is universal, it encompasses everything: reasoning is fundamental for the development of any science, to guide our mind, to direct our behavior. In this webinar we will discuss these questions with the following participants:
